This project aims to evaluate the benefits of alternative implementations of Flight and Flow in an Integrated Collaborative Environment Release 1 (FF-ICE R1) for South-East Asia. The project aims to:
- Develop an effective database of the ASEAN network so that simulated flights follow realistic flight paths in both en route and terminal airspaces.
- Articulate alternative concepts of operation (CONOPS) for implementation of FF-ICE R1 in South-East with a focus on Thailand-Hong Kong-Singapore collaborations.
- Extend the FF-ICE simulator developed under ASI Phase II to evaluate these alternative CONOPS consistent with the Constraint Management and Trajectory Prediction implementations within the AIR Lab digital twin. ASI refer to this extended simulator as the CONOPS FF-ICE simulator.
- Validate the CONOPS FF-ICE simulator through comparisons with detailed simulations from the AIR Lab digital twin.
- Simulate scenarios of regional traffic flows under alternative CONOPS and to measure the relative benefits in airborne delay and fuel savings.
- Engage regional stakeholders in discussions on these results.
- Develop a software prototype for scenario management and evaluation.
