This research track focuses on developing an integrated approach to the analysis of airfield and airspace operations and determine the airside capacities at Changi Airport in all stages of future development. The procedure will combine (i) empirical data from current operations and (ii) analytical and simulation models of airspace-airfield capacity, air traffic queuing and flight scheduling, to compute airport performance metrics under different operating strategies. The metrics to compute include: airfield capacity; flight delays; slot displacement; and environmental impacts.
This project is an extension for two completed projects, “Airfield Management and Economics” and “Airport Connectivity”. It also builds on top of the research under development in the NRF-ATP project “Resilient Airspace Operations”.
