Hervé Moalic is the Director of AIR Lab at Thales. He is one of the founding members of AIR Lab and is passionate about digitalization in Air Traffic Management (ATM). He believes the AIR Lab will reinforce Thales’ commitment to delivering innovative solutions in ATM.

Hervé most recently served as Vice-President, Technical Directorate for the Thales Air Traffic Management business line. Having led the technology strategy for mission critical systems, his areas of responsibility encompassed Technical Authorities, Engineering of Standard Components, Research & Technologies, Advanced Studies and ATM Labs. Some of his notable initiatives include digital activities such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in ATM.

From 1991 – 2001, Hervé held various roles including Programme Director and Head of Product & Development. He was responsible for the integration of The Australian Advanced Air Traffic System (TAAATS), and the capture of large En-Route systems for Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou (NESACC) in China. Outside of Thales, Hervé was Head of Systems Development Europe at NYSE Euronext, where he developed trading platforms, enhanced the trading engine and deployed a new derivatives trading system, overseeing a team of 150 across the London and Paris offices. He also held several executive positions in R&D, engineering and operations at NDS, and played a key role in the development of product roadmaps. Prior to that, Hervé spent two years at Canal + Technologies where he served as Head of Engineering and Programme Director.

Hervé holds an Engineering Degree (Bachelor of Sciences) from the Institut National Polytechnique of Grenoble and a PhD from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He also has an MBA from INSEAD.
