Dr. Volodymyr Bilotkach is an Associate Professor in Aviation Management at Purdue University, USA. Being an internationally visible scholar in aviation economics and policy, Dr. Bilotkach has served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Air Transport Management since 2013 and assumed the post of the journal’s Co-Editor-in-Chief from January 2022. He is also a member of International Editorial Board at Transport Policy.

His academic career has taken him around the world. He has worked in Universities in Ukraine, the USA, the UK, and Singapore, and held visiting positions in Korea, Germany, and Japan. His research covers a number of issues in economics and policy of the commercial civil aviation sector. He has published over 40 articles in refereed journals. His book ‘Economics of Airlines’ (2nd edition 2021) provides an assessment of the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the aviation sector, while remaining a comprehensive introduction to the economics of the aviation sector. He has over 15 years of teaching and research experience as a faculty member at the University of California, Irvine; Newcastle University (UK); Singapore Institute of Technology, and other institutions of higher learning.

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Bilotkach has advised the European Commission, the US Department of Transportation, Malaysian Aviation Commission, and other organizations on policy issues in the aviation sector.

Dr. Bilotkach holds a Ph.D. in Economics, University of Arizona, USA; Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Economics, University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Ukraine.
